Them too...
Eph 4:8
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
He lead those who believed God help in a place they call Abraham's bosom. They were held there until Christ defeated death and sin and lead then to the Father.... Jim

Go back to the cross, the day he died, you will read that he entered into Hell, and that when he came up out of the grave, people were found in the grave yard, walking around, Jesus, went into Hell and preached for 3 days, them that were there, when he was resurrected, they were too, and now are in Heaven with him, now when you die, due to the Cross, you go right into heaven, there is no separation. Jesus blood did that for you. The first person redeemed into heaven, was the man crucified next to him, Jesus told him this day, you will go to paradises, well, everyone else, was in waiting for Jesus to come an brake the chains so they too could go up, he still brakes chains today, so you can go up, before you go down.
The vial was torn, That means, you need him, all you have to do is say Jesus, and he is right there waiting, asking how can I help you. Know one takes him as help. They have no idea what power came from his death, his blood, and his resurrection. It takes reading, and lots of it of the word of God to understand, what freedom we really have, in our salvation, and we do not even know it. We are dead, not alive. We are alive, when we let Jesus and his power show us life. And ohh what a life.
My bills are paid, I have more money, I am not sick, and people like me, I have found favor with God. That my friend, is what the death of Christ did for me, Others before Christ are in Heaven now. Where are you, on earth? or In Heavenly places with God?

The Bible mentions a place called "Sheol" where all people went when they died before Christ came into being.
Based off that, I would imagine that those people will receive mercy from God on Judgment day, when asked whether or not they want to accept Christ or not.
Or. . .
As Paul says in Romans 1, everyone knew that there was a God, but people shut him out of their minds and hearts to do what they wanted, so no mercy for them.

Jesus died went to hades or hell (due to human sin) talked about the road to salvation. Gave the dead a choice. They could either accept their salvation in Christ or not.

The people before Jesus were still under the law, or the old covenant, they had to bring their sacrifices to the temple and let the Priests take the sacrifice to the alter.Jesus died on the cross for the ultimate sacrifice, so that we would not have to bring our sacrifices to the temple anymore..this is the new covenant.

This question is getting old, Jesus lived forever, Jesus died for all of mankind, and it is not ours to judge others.
The people who died before Jesus walked the earth had hearts and God looks on the heart of man, even today, because you can say that you know Jesus and carry on for public approval when all you should seek is God's approval. Just stay true to yourself in your heart, believe in Jesus and strive to live according to his teachings the rest will take care of itself.

God lives outside of time. Time itself is relative. Time is a product of creation. For instance there is no time in a black hole. What we observe on the edge of the universe existed at the beginning of the universe.
Therfore, Christ death for our sins is not bounded by time. God himself is the author of time. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

They had the old testament where their behavior was governed by the laws of God; all they needed to do was to accept God into their hearts; but they did hear and know of a savior that was suppose to come(Jesus Christ).

This is more in depth than Jesus preached in hell. Jesus taught that those that know God would know him and those that know him know God. Before Abraham was I am. He taught that Abraham knew him and rejoiced to see his day. Many know Jesus by knowing God but these will not reject Jesus. Those who reject Christ are rejecting God. No one comes to the father but through the son but many were born before the birth of Christ but those that knew God did indeed know Jesus they are one in the same.It is by faith that we know God. Abraham had faith and it was counted to him as righteousness. Abraham knew that God would provide a way for his people and that way was Jesus Christ. It is more than the crucifiction that saves a man it is his faith in God. Many knew God before the actual birth of Christ David often prayed about Christ. When christ aught that no one comes to the father but through the son he was not speaking of just one specific time period he was talking to all people of all times. Knowing God is knowing Jesus. They are the same God.

Jesus died for everyones sins regardless of when they lived.
1tim 2:4 "for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our savior who WILL HAVE ALL MANKIND TO BE SAVED AND COME UNTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, for there is one mediator between God and mankind, he is the man Christ Jesus WHO GAVE HIMSELF AS A RANSOM FOR ALL TO BE TESTIFIED IN THEIR DUE TIME."
