You cannot upgrade from ME to 2000, you'll have to do a clean install.

Here are the system requirements for Windows 2000:
Computer/Processor133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU.
MemoryAt least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM; more memory generally improves responsiveness.
Hard Disk2 GB with 650 MB free space.
CPU SupportWindows 2000 Professional supports single and dual CPU systems.
DriveCD-ROM or DVD drive.
DisplayVGA or higher resolution monitor.
KeyboardRequired.

I'm sure you meet them, but you most likely want to have at least a Pentium III and 512MB of RAM.

You wouldn't like 2000. It has terrible hardware support and is buggier than a Holiday Inn mattress. XP is much better.

Both operating systems were released at the same time and if your computer supports ME it should also support Win2K.
