I know the difference between the cooking methods, but I have a test and the difference between the pans is a question on my test.

It's more about the technique then the pan. Braising is cooking with hot moist heat and liquid and roasting is cooking with hot heat, but no liquid. Most pans that are roasters will have a rack that sits on the bottom to raise the meat off the bottom of the pan so it doesnt sit in it's juices. You would braise a pot roast and cook it in it's juices while you would roast a roast beef and let the juice drip out and use them to baste it.
