are you sure she knows who it's from? Maybe she's just trying to get attention by spreading it around that she got a love letter. Or she could be trying to make someone else jealous.

If I got a love poem and I knew who it was from and didn't like that person I would throw it away and forget about. But if I got one from someone that I liked but didn't know it yet then ya I would ask and hope that it was from the person that I liked. Or a HOT guy.

She's probably asking to make sure it's real. Sometimes when things that seem like a dream happen, girls just want to know that a joke's not being played on them. They want to know what they're getting their heart into.

Geeezeee Louizzzzzzzzze! You get a poem - you admire it or spell check it - toss it in a drawer and forget about it. You keep getting poems - either collect or drop them in the trash. Secret admirers don't stay secret if they are true admirers.

good day pay attention up, do not pay attention to what all of us is asserting of element like, she possibly do not cabe of what the guy wrote it. even possibly with each thing she does care approximately it, so purely shop it in faith and choose for it, do the subsequent step, and tell that guy to pass on, possibly often times a friendship can artwork out right into a 2d step, all you acquire do is attempt it. good success for you and to that guy!

that depends how the girl feels for this person, that she thinks sent it. but its best to know who really did. ask the person to their face if they wrote it. if she didn' like him tell her to tell him the poem was nice but shes not interested in him. than just ignoring him.

The question's worded a bit confusingly, but I'll do my best to help.
When you say "she knows who it is from"... does that mean it's signed? Or is it just anonymous but obvious who it's from? If it's signed, that would be rather dumb asking who it's from... unless she thinks its a fake name or somthing..
I'll try answering your question by describing my motivations if I received an anonymous love poem but thought I knew who the author was. If I liked the guy, I would tend to think it was just wishful thinking or my imagination thinking that it was from him, and I would ask another girl to see if she thinks the same thing. (From experience... people are strangely oblivious to clear signals, if those signals are coming from the one they like but who they dont know for sure likes them back. They tend to think it's just wishful thinking or their imagination, and they get scared of making a mistake assuming it's really a sign of liking.) If she thinks it's him too, then probably a lot of giggling and speculation about when he's going to ask me out will then ensue...
If I didn't like the guy, and I thought I knew who it was, I would possibly still ask another girl who she thought it was from, just to get her opinion on it and see if it coincides with mine. Or I might just go to her and go "aaaa so-and-so sent me a love note and i don't like him! what do i do!!". Actually, that latter is probably the more likely...
Yes, see, that's the thing about girls, or at least about me and most or all of my friends who are girls. We like sharing things like that with each other, talking about who likes who, and who might possibly like who. Bit of relationship advice is never try to make a girl get more distant from her girl friends and not share things with them... it won't work and she'll get mad at you.
But I digress... in answer to your question, asking when you think it should be obvious might be a sign that she likes who she thought the note was from.
Another thought... if she's not asking a friend in private, if she just kinda says it in the middle of the hallway, especially if she knows the author of the note is present... it might be a test to see how the author of the note reacts, if he gives any sort of signal that he wrote it...
Best of luck understanding us girls. Sometimes we just LIKE being enigmatic to guys! :-P It's all part of our charm. ;-) But don't worry.. there's so many things about guys that we don't understand, too.
