explain to your son youself that daddy does infact love him and thats why daddy moved before the 2 of you.. Tell him that his father moved so when you guys got to flordia, everything would be okay...there would be a nice house for the 3 of you 2 live in, new toys for your son and much more... Then if u have to have your husband tell him the same, tell him there is no reason to cry its just for a short period of time, and he will c daddie soon... tell him you miss daddy lots to and ur positive that daddie misses the 2 of you just as much. Thats the best i can do,sry if i wasnt helpful howevere I hope i was! best of luck with your son and with the move.

Let him talk to his dad on the phone often, at least once a day. Also, if you both have computers, get webcams and let your son have a face-to-face conversation with his dad via webcam. Maybe your husband can send your son cards or small gifts in the mail. Most of all, just keep reassuring your son that his dad does love him very much, and let him know that you miss his dad too. It will make him feel a little bit better if he knows that he is not alone in missing his dad.

Make a night time ritual of calling your husband before bedtime. Keep a photo of him near the phone so that your son can look at it while he talks to his Daddy. Have your husband reassure him that he will see him soon. Maybe even start a count down of days - " Daddy is so excited to see you Timmy! Only 10 more days!" - Talk about what you will do when you are all together again! Good Luck!

Whenever my husband went on trips we would record his voice on a tape recorder. He read into the tape about a half dozen stories and always ended the story with I love you. But since he is already gone why don't you just pick up the phone and let him talk to your son? So the phone bill is a bit high isn't it worth your son's sleep time?

Moves like this are hard for children to understand. Does he speak to your husband on the phone? Your husband should also help in reassuring him that they'll be together soon.

give him a call, or use a web cam. but back in my country, we believe that we associate to other people with smell too. usually before someone goes on a long journey, we do not wash either their t shirt or blanket that they have used. and when children misses that someone, we let the child sleep with the t shirt or blanket that was left behind. it really works.

or maybe you can let your son sleep on your husband side of the bed that has his scent.

hope it helps!

How old is your son? Old enough to talk with?

Call Daddy occasionally. Let him talk to him on the phone. Smile, and hug the child, announce happily that "very soon we will go to be with Daddy."

Don't show the child that you may feel sadness or that you are upset. Positive actions, happy faces. Children take their cues from the adults around them..

Since you have a computer maybe you two should get a cam then your son will be able to see his dad. Well keep telling him that his daddy does love him very much it just that he will see him as soon as he can . I know how that is my daughter dont get to see her dad.

Can't you call your husband and let your son talk to him? That would be the best way IMO is let him talk to his father every night.
