Ok, I think it's ok for medical reasons, or if you've been in a horrible accident. But breast enhancements? Anyone who says they need it to for their self esteem has to work on their mind not their bodies!

Well in general I doubt i would. I don't have any real deformities that need to be fixed. However, lots of people do.
I might consider a tummy tuck. As you get older you tend to think a little more serious about plastic surgery as your body changes from the tight and young to the older saggy, stretch marky , cellulite city version. I assume you are very young and that's why you are asking the question. Most women over 30 think about it. Most don't do it. But over all..Is it Vain? In some cases probably. But in general I think its just trying to improve how you look to yourself, not to other people.

Well I used to weigh 298 lbs (to 120lbs)and my skin was stretched to where it will no go back on my midriff area. It causes health problems and my doctor is saying it would be a good idea as it causes more problems for me.
#1 it is emotional I am a small size but can not fit into my "regular" size because of this abnormality. If I removed this area that exercise does not and will not make it go away (lost elasticity) I wear a size 10 I would be in a size 5-6 or smaller so that is a drastic measure. It just hangs there. So I am going to have it removed for health issues and psychological issues.
I was one of the lucky one's where I do not need the whole body lift....just the stomach area.
I feel if it brings a better quality of life then Yes it's positive. But the ones who just are lazy and have a tiny bulge and get this it's ridiculous. Especially when I know they could work it off. I can not with mine. I go in a few months to get mine and I am VERY excited about this.

i would have plastic surgery DEFINATELY! i see nothing wrong with wanting to improve something that might be causeing you self conciousness that may inturn intrude in your everyday living. If you can afford it, its your perogative & i'm all FOR excersing right to choose whats best for you. Plastic surgery these days is very technologically advanced, small & safe procedures, none of the risks there used to be, but that DOES NOT mean there AREN'T those that go wrong. I just say make sure your smart about it & do your research so your 100% informed about whichever procedure you've decided on. I think a decision to get plastic surgery can be to fix mental & emotional issues (not just physical ones) These can be as debilitating as and as important to an individual as any deformity. It can give people a new lease of confidence affording them the courage to go out and get that job they always wanted to, or to particiapte fully in social activity, or become close to someone etc... and whilst 'yes' its sad that some people my need aid to this extreme to attain these things, the fact that if it helps them, well i think its ok.

Some people who are in accidents, have to get the surgery to correct a problem. I would not have cosmetic surgery. I guess it isn't a waste of money if THEY want it. Something I wouldn't do. Some people strive for perfection, and get addicted to it, I don't think that is healthy.

Some plastic surgery is required for disfigurements and serious scar tissues, burns, etc.. In those cases, I see no problem with it. But we all know the majority of it is for cosmetic surgery due to the insecurity of many people in todays society. It's sad that so many people are guided by the media and influenced by their peers who determine what they THINK looks good.

I completely agree, Vix. The only exception I can think of would be in the case of a terrible accident that leaves a person completely mangled and deformed. Other than that, anyone who gets plastic surgery to "enhance" themselves is quite the vain, ignorant, and stuck-up person...

Why would anyone want to replace their God-given body with plastic, botox, or other foreign material? I just don't get it.

It's not a waste of money. Lots of people are depressed about the way they look or disfigured because of accidents, etc.
If you have too much money then it may be vain but hell at least you look good!
