My parents did not make me do anything embarrassing. I WAS sometimes embarrassed but that is the natural outcome of growing up.
On a more serious point, if you did feel that your parents made you do things that embarrassed you, determibe NOW that when YOU are a parent you do not do so to your children.

At a big family and friends gathering when i was about 11, "Oooooohh you're learning to sing aren't you? Go on then, show everyone how clever you are" Thus proceeding to be poked and prodded into the middle of the floor as everyone went silent awaiting a vocal performance which i had to commence. Was the most embarassing moment of my life so far, as i fancied our next door neighbour who was also in the 'audience' LOL

When I was 8 years old I had a problem with spitting. My parents told me the next time they caught me spitting the would put a dress on me and make me stand on the porch for an hour.
They did what they said they were going to do

whenever a boy came to the house to take me on a date---my parents would make him sit on the couch while they stood over him asking a million questions. then my dad would say "ok---you kids run along now. if anyone needs me i'll be in the basement cleaning my guns."

when i was about 14, we had this really fancy wedding to go to. i wanted to wear something quite smart yet trendy, but my dad didn't like it. instead he forced me to wear a white blouse, black skirt and 'sensible' shoes. i looked like one of the waitresses serving the meal!!! i sulked all day.
that, and the fact that i also had a mullet haircut - on the insistence of my dad cos it was 'trendy'!
yes i wanted to die that day..............:)
