How do I get volume on my windows 98? Thanks?

I have a windows 98 and I do not have a icon on the bottom right of my COMPUTER NOT A CAR. PLEASE HELP. Thanks

Go into Control Panel, select Sounds and then find the option that says put the volume control in the system tray.

There should also be settings there to adjust the volume and make sure it's not muted.

Start / Configuration / Sound /
there somewhere should be an option to add the icon.
