No, I have not heard of any Potatoe Tree Idiots in the last century. The last known sighting of a PTI was clubbing a dodo bird in the face with a herring.

hmm, the only thing that I can think of that is tree-like and produces storage roots is the Cassava (tapioca) plant but this is NOT a potato plant!
