Well Los Angeles is currently going to a skyscraper building boom and with the LA Live Complex going up near Staple Center it's gonna be very different in just a few years. So visually it's gonna look much different and far as mass transit goes... I hope something is done about the lack of good mass transit But that transportation proposition/bond past this November so there is some hope, let's see how the government spends the money? As far as I'm concerned freeways are a waste too many cars not enough space, lightrail is the way to go... it worked in LA once and it works in major cities around the world so that might be something LA should go back too.

I think we can currently see LA transforming itself into a more mass transit friendly city. The car will be the primary mode of transportation for most, but the city will have more options concerning light-rail. Traffic will not go away. People will reposition themselves closer to work and I think more urban living centers will pop up around transit rails.

In 20 years, LA should be the biggest metropolis in the US. Townhouses should be more popular while single-family houses will still be building east of LA.
