Does local resident have autority of local community traffic "no entry "sign?

There is an "no entry" traffic sign at my local street nearby for local community traffic purppose. do I have the authority to cross it?

"No Entry" means no entry. "Residents only" would be different.

If you live there of course you have but check with the local police because i don't want to see anyone get into trouble.Dari
