I was involved in a discussion wherein some though Satan does not believe he is done for. That he probably still believes he will win the Battle of Armegeddon. I've always assumed he knows he will lose because God has stated it, but he believes in himself over God.....so.....what are your thoughts?

That is a good question. He is very brilliant ,so I doubt it. I believe that he knows that he will lose. I also believe that he wants to lengthen his time as the ruler of the world.I bet he thinks that things look pretty good right now. He cannot imagine how God is going to overturn this chaotic mess. God will do it with humor. Satan will hate it. I believe that God is funnier than hell. Can you imagine the end of the Church age coming in the Baby BOOM generation. The generation of Rock-n-Roll and Heavy Metal? It is time for Christians in the USA to wake up and become prayer warriors.WE need to call in the God of the Armies, The Lord Jesus Christ.Christians need to become a member of the Pivot of mature believers and use the power of the word. I call it MOP and POW. (member of pivot, power of Word)We need to arm ourselves with Bible Doctrine.Use 1John1:9 and pray 2nd Chronicles 7:14. This will make more sense when things get worse, and they will get worse. I know to some this sounds crazy, but aren't the radical terrorists who want death to America crazy?
Remember that this will be a war not won on the battlefield but lost in our mind. Satan is afraid of mature believers, believers with Doctrine. He has done a great job of blinding people to the truth. The truth will prevail. The advise to non-Christians after the rapture is: DO NOT TAKE THE MARK OF THE BEAST.
It only takes one second of time to be saved. You may only have seconds after the rapture.
You can tell God the Father that you Believe in is uniquely born Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16
John 3:36.Peace out.

I think some how he must know he is done for. Because everytime, someone is saved through Christ satan gets defeated. Now I guess even many of the saved will still go and turn their backs on God. I think with satan it is a case of misery loves company. The bible says satan was thrown down to earth with only a short time left. So he knows that. I think satan wants to take as many people with him to eternal damnation as he possibly can. And the road to heaven is a narrow road, and many choose the wide road instead. This leads me to believe many more will be going with satan -then going to God. But...all the evil will be gone forever.

No. This being, was shot down for trying to take over a realm which he could never have dealt with. (We all know now that created, sinful( after the fall of Adam and Eve) beings can't run the planet without trying to destroy it and take everybody hostage.) This living personality, God's greatest creation knew, tho' He may not have before, the moment he stepped over the line into the sin of pride and selfishness, that he would never best the one who has no beginning. His focus is now centered on the destruction of everything God loves and taking as many as he can, down with him, to his coming judgment. Satan, Decided not to remain God's friend ( they knew each other very well, read the first chapter of Job, and Luke 10:18 .) The only alternative left after that, is to have him as judge.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

i think that, if the Bible is telling the truth then Satan is probably fighting God not because he thinks he will win but because he thinks he is doing what is right.
i mean who could honestly believe that they could defeat an omnipotent being, especially if they are as clever as Christians make Satan out to be. the only motivation i could ever see anyone having for even attempting such an obviously doomed endeavor is because they feel they are morally right.
Satan probably feels he is fighting for whats right because he sees God as evil. The Bible even says God creates evil (Isaiah 45:7)

Satan (Lucifer) knows the Bible probably better than any person on earth. He KNOWS he will not win in the end. But what he is fighting for are souls! So, the more souls he can win over Jesus...the better he will like it. And he is doing a pretty good job of it right now....he is really living it up.

well as they story goes god will destroy him after Satan destroys us, god gave Satan time on earth to rule, why he was hopping Satan would have a change of heart and come home after all the are blood brother together in a scam to make fools out of humans, they were friends way before earth was created, so he will most likely let his friend rule over the earth forever and delay Christ's return, which Christ is fine with that because last time he came to earth they killed him, so its a big fat scam for control, the book of claims

He knows he's already defeated. He just wants to take as many of God's creation with him as he can. Misery enjoys company. He'll be his own pathetic little god in Hell where he will torment people (not God doing the tormenting.).

Satan knows he's gunna lose, but to him, a victory is to take as many people down with him as he can. That's what he's aiming for. If he makes enough people suffer, he'll be satisfied.
