I've burned a VCD in my pc but the video files i've got are all DAT files. I need to transform it into a media player file to be able to edit it for my school project. HELP!

Hi, You can convert DAT files in MPEG or WMP format with the help of VCD Cutter or You can go to Window Media Player and play the file and then go to File menu --- Seclect--- Save as when a Dialog box appear in File Name box you type "name of movie.mpeg" and click on save button.

I believe VCD files are mpeg. You should be able to rename the file to .mpg and they should work fine for you.

DAT = DATA FILES you need to have extentions = AVI =WMV=

go on the internet and search for ----- Video User groups --- there is alot of them, they will help you
