u should watch the news more often. highlights have strong chemicals that can damage ur hair if u put so much. there was this gurl who kept getting highlights and low highlights and then her hair got damaged. now she is nearly bald! my danze teach has blonde hair and has darker highlights a little bit. it looks cool. but if u put too much colors in ur hair, you will look like a clown take this advice from a beauty expert.

Adding lowlights is not as damaging as highlights. When you get highlights the chemicals used to lighten the hair actually strip color out, and depending on what you had done, it was left in that condition-it looks blonder, or a color may have been put on after it.
With lowlights the stylist does not have to strip or lift your natural color and he/she is only depositing color on your hair.
Yes, all chemical services are damaging, but each is different.
Most hair will style easier if there is a little damage to it, mind you not excessive damage, just regular coloring/highlighting.
I do not think it will add any significant damage to your hair if you have a salon do it with professional products. Your highlights should have grown out a good 3 or more inches now and lowlights would look really nice with your hair.

*Just a side note-trend wise, most people like to lighten hair in the spring and darken in the fall and winter, so it's a great time to do it for the holidays. You'll feel better about yourself knowing you took the time to do something neat with your hair.

Good luck!

No, lowlights are just like highlights only with a different color. As for the darkness of the lowlights go with a variety of colors to have your haircolor appear more natural.

if you havnt coloured your hair since easter its unlikely it will do much damage if you keep your hair in great condition. I think dark blond lowlights would look amazing

It would give your hair depth and definition. Please have it done by a professional though. ANy type of chemical you use in your hair is damaging. If the person doing it knows what they are doing, It won't be as damaging. Any time you use permanent color, with peroxide, IT DOES LIFT YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR, AND THEN DEPOSITS COLOR INTO THE HAIR.
