"according to the story" God kicked man out of Eden to prevent him from remaining in his separated, fallen state for the duration of his immortality. The Tree of Life grew there too, just like the Tree of Knowlege of Good and Evil.
Man was never offered the "God" role.

God, not gods gave the command for them NOT to eat of the tree.
Death was NEVER mentioned until he attached it to this simple command.
"But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.” Genesis 2:17
Basically, He was saying, "this is my tree and mine alone. when I want you to eat of it I will tell you"
It represented HIS right to rule....sovereignty.
The only ones that will gain immortality are the ones that God chooses (has choosen) to reign in heaven with his son and complete the kingdom that will eventually rule over the earth and the perfect people that Adam and Eve should have stayed.
This is His purpose and his purpose for the earth is clearly stated in the Bible.
Even humans that make up the "new earth" will be mortal and ever dependent on Almighty God, however, they will have everlasting life forever once they pass the final test after the 1,000 year reign of Christ when Satan is to be let loose to test humans one last time. Now, wasn't the test that Adam & Eve failed pretty easy compared to what the world now faces? Seems that way, but those who truely love God, although being raised to perfection like Adam and Eve and faced with the same type of test....will succeed.........forever!
It was all about faithfulness and listening to their Creator.

Man got kicked out if the Garden for disobedience to God. Immortality comes from accepting the atonement provided by Jesus Christ the tree of life. Judgement comes from eating of the law The tree of knowledge of good and evil. Those who do not eat of the tree of life will be judged according to the tree of knowledge of good and evil and in the day they eat of it they will surely die. We have all as a species tasted of the fruit of the law and judgement will come to all who have not eaten of the tree of life.

In correct. They were kicked out because they sinned against God, not because God was trying to keep us mortal or prevent us from being gods ourselves. Remember, God created Adam and Eve perfect and immortal to begin with. Their sin is what robbed them of their immortality, as well as the rest of us.

It was the one true God Jehovah who kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, after Satan the Devil lied to them about eating from the Tree of knowledge of good and bad (Genesis 3:23-24). God warned them that they would die, and Satan said that they would't, and would in fact be like God, know both good and bad. Therefore being able to choose what was good for them to do themselves, without having to take guidence from God (Genesis 3:1-7).
Apart from the fact that given enough time we would kill ourselves as a species. If the species live on for eternity, we still all die eventually. Our only hope to eternal life is through God, and to aquire that life, we need to learn about Him and His only begotten Son Jesus, through His Word the Bible (John 17:3).

The BIBLE tells us that Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden because they sinned against God. And immortality..your soul is immortal..not your flesh, we will either spend eternity in Heaven or in Hades. God bless you!

God gave Adam and Eve the world and only one rule. They sinned against God and cursed mankind; for the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 But God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16.

when god created adam and eve they were imortal, living forever. Gods one command to them was not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of god and evil. Satan, looking like a snake, convinced her to eat the fruit using the byline of immortality and infinite knowledge. She gave it to her husband and he ate it. It actually took away there imortality amd gave them knowledge of good and evil.
