The doctor told my husband to eat green veggies because of the high vitamin levels. I do know that lung function and weight go hand in hand. If you are overweight, you need to loss weight by eating less, making healthy choices, and exercise. If you are underweight you need to eat higher calorie foods, still make healthy choices, and exercise. As you loss or gain weight to get to a more healthy weight, your lung function should improve.

Broccoli is one of the best. We eat lots of it, and we usually just lightly saute it, or eat it raw with a dipping sauce. There are many good holistic health books out there to support this evidence. I believe you'll find a good deal about it in the macrobiotic diet books. All the best!
