I am a Catholic. In our belief there are three people in one God. like a government with three branches, the legislative, the judiciary and the excutive. Three braches one government. Jesus is the name given to God the son. God the son can also be called God because he is a part of God. The father is also God. Another word for God is Allah so basically Allah is another name for the Trinity. But since the muslims dont beleive that Jesus is God then I think they reffer to Allah as God the father.

Was Christ a Christian? There was no Christianity as we knew it back then so we cannot say that he was a worshipper of Christ. Doesn't make sense. What makes sense is that he had to have used one or more words for God, in order to satisfactorily convey the idea. And that word had to come from somewhere. It's a wonderful thought to have, that Jesus prayed to Allah. Search for a few minutes online and you will easily find that Muslims celebrate their numerous names for God. This reminds us of the multiple aspects of the Divine, while still having the idea of one God. If I call God by a different name, is it necessarily not the same God? Perhaps if I pray for peace and brotherhood while kneeling in a mosque, or reading verses in the back of a church, it will be wrong one way or the other? Such differences are artificial and petty, when describing a concept so large and complex that a single word fails to encompass its total meaning. Any attempt can only get part of it correct. Legend has brothers Abraham and Isaac parting directions, one founding Islam and the other founding Judaism. But they did start out as brothers.

It seems that There is only one God in this world. Just different people have their own belief about God and different way to worship God.
I've meet a christian who said that in their religion, the first thing for them is to believe in Allah and second to believe in Jesus. But other Christians did not use the word Allah or use different name for the God.
Doesn't matter what name u use to refer to God, but still God will be the same. Human have the differences but not the God.

You know "Allah" is just the Arabic word for God and as I saw in your link it is similar in Aramaic, no surprise as the languages are related. Arab Christians use that word and it is used in Arabic translations of the Bible. So I don't know why people have all this discussion about the word.

I tried your link but every word I entered returned 'not found.'
"Allah" is the Arabian word for 'God,' or 'the Lord;' it does not mean 'a god,' but refers to the only God. Derivatives of this word for God also exist in Aramaic and in Hebrew, however, it is my understanding that Jesus referred to the First Person of the Holy Trinity as: "Abba," which means: "Father." More specifically Jesus instructed his disciples to say... "Our Father..."

honestly i wouldnt use the word allah. perhaps in Jesus' day that was the word for God, but the Bible says that Jesus taught the disciples to call Him Abba (Avva) which means "dad". allah has now become more of an islamic word, because their beliefs differ from christian beliefs, they say Jesus didnt do miracles and that he wasnt God/the messiah.

Yes, that would be the Aramaic word for "God." Jesus spoke Aramaic, as you said, so that would be the word He used. It came into Arabic (a very close relative) as "Allah."
