I highly doubt there's an insurance company that fully covers braces. They're too major of a procedure and too expensive to be fully covered.

Dont take this as gospel, but my understanding of dental insurance is that orthodontics are only limitly covered for individuals over 18.

The logic is that for children orthodontics is medically necessary while for adults it is more cosmetic.

I got braces reapplied when I was 22 and my dental insurance covered very little of the costs. I paid almost all of it out of pocket. The silver lining was that most orthodontists are very open to a payment plan (with little or no interest) and via a Healthcare Spending Account you can pay for the braces using pre-tax dollars.

Sorry, but I remember looking far and wide for dental coverage as well and couldnt find any. I think you might be out of luck on this one.

No such plan. If there is, the premium would cost as much as the braces themselves. Many dental plans will offer up to $1,000 a year for orthodontics but never 100% upfront.

That would make no sense whatsoever from the insurance company's point of view.

Think of it this way: "Hi, I'm looking to give you $500 and have you give my dentist $4000 for my braces. OK?"

Or, "Hi, I want to buy car insurance so I can total my car and get a new one."

Like the saying goes: you cant' get something for nothing.

I doubt you'll find one. This plan covers some of the cost though: http://www.everyonebenefits.com/LMota
