Why do people believe every word in the bible?
The bible is not the word of "god" or "jesus" or "Allah". These books are not the word of any god. These books are the work of men, and have been edited over time, so basically what is read now, is not the same as was made when the bible was first created. So why do people believe the bible, when it could all be a pack of lies, something created to keep people in order.

To make the question more interesting, how do we know that god spoke to anybody? doesn't it say somewhere that god couldn't speak to humans because his voice would kill them? isn't that a contradiction? Why the need for so many versions of the bible - they all put forward the same story don't they?

so as: a million. i do not trust in any gods or supernatural entities because I see no reason to. there is definitely no evidence of the life of a few thing supernatural. 2. after we die, we give up to exist. it really is it. sport over. 3. only because some thing is previous doesn't make it good or precise. they have lasted see you later as they have because human beings get indoctrinated at the same time as they're youthful and then bypass the conception to their toddlers. toddlers are very at risk of what their elders trust and could profess an identical beliefs to delight their moms and dads. 4a. I particularly doubt it truly is a real tale; it appears like an party. 4b. human beings do all kinds of issues lower than rigidity that they could by no skill typically do. Why do believers curse god's call at the same time as undesirable issues ensue to them? BTW, this happens each and each and every of the time--been there, heard that.

I agree with you, to some extent. It is not so much that it maybe lies, it's the fact that people don't take it for what it is worth. All scripture is allegory, it is symbolic for realities of mind and being and has nothing to do with history. It's nature is parabolic and it becomes the letter that kills when people do their observations of it externally, making traditions and rituals that take them further from the truth and it's purpose to invoke higher thought of ones on being. That they see these things as literal, that a person must negate all reasoning to do so. It's not literal or historical, it is made for the purposes of self knowledge. So most have never really looked upon scripture in their life. What has literal interpretations of scripture caused? twisted theologies that have killed billions upon billions, it's sad really because they weren't ever supposed to be taken that way, most early church fathers say it is allegory. And to Quote this from Jewish Mysticism,

"Thus the tales related in the Torah are simply her outer garments, and woe to the man who regards that outer garb as the Torah itself, for such a man will be deprived of portion in the next world. Thus David said: 'Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law' (Psalms 119:18), that is to say, the things that are underneath. See now. The most visible part of a man are the clothes that he has on, and they who lack understanding, when they look at the man, are apt not to see more in him than these clothes. In reality, however, it is the body of the man that constitutes the pride of his clothes, and his soul constitutes the pride of his body" (The Zohar; Edited by Gershom G. Scholem, Zohar- The Book of Splendor, Basic Readings from the Kabbalah [New York, Schocken Books, 1949])

And no the Qur'an has been corrupted to. All movements that become apart of this world, becoming an institution has reversed and turned upon it's first principles.

Yes, I don't believed in Bibles... They're too many editions out there... They're too many churches too... Don't worry dude, almost all Christians didn't believe in Bibles anymore.

Stick to Holy Koran, the only Holy Book that still maintains its originality since the day it reached the Earth.

That is why there are some bibles that were not edited at all during the time. An example would be the King James version.

Ignorance mostly. There has to be some sort of disconnect with the real world in order to believe that which has no evidence inspite of what is right in front of one's face.

Because the need to to be strong and have a reason for "ultimate" questions that have no answers. You don't so good for you. But why criticize others because they are different? You want them to be miserable?
