My 5 month old kitten has had the most horrid breath for the past couple of days.
How do I get rid of it? I tried brushing his teeth but he wouldn't let me. (no I didn't use toothpaste Just water)

HELP, he's stinking me out here as I wait for answers.

He eats the same things my other cats always had.
He goes to the vet regularly and I just had him fully checked out when I found him. (he was a stray) a month ago.

im not sure what causes this 'stink', but there are some cures. try looking at a pet store for cat breath fresheners. for my cat, i use Pit-R-Pat For Cats (in a little pink tin at the cash registers), but there are a lot more out there. good luck!

iI suspect food firstly.. you didnt name your brand and just because the other cats tollerated it and didnt get bad breath doesnt mean that it wont affect all cats the same...

the grocery or Wal Mart level foods are crap the fillers are hard on the tummies and this can result in bad breath

at 5 months it shouldnt be rotten teeth EXCEPT it can be if a baby tooth didnt fall out and is causing a problem

limit canned food to 1 teaspoon per feeding (and no more than 2 feedings).. NO FISH NO MILK

further it can be a sign of a serious health issue (liver problems) although he is young this isnt as likely as food

Sounds like a diet thing to me as well.
He isnt eating his poop or anything? Try giving him some segments of chicken neck bones raw. The chewing on the bone can help him clean his own teeth, cats that eat raw (our 5 month old cat started a month ago) are less likeley to need dental cleanings and health check ups.

Well first I would make sure he's getting enough water, and maybe look at what you're feeding. Food can play a HUGE part.

After that, a vet checkup may be in order. Cats with diabetes often emit a smell similar to acetone from thier breath.

Brush the canine's tooth. i comprehend it sounds weird and wonderful, whether that is going to help. additionally try a clean canine foodstuff, there are particular ingredients made for dental well-being, comparable with canine treats. i began out feeding my canine dental bones not that some time past because of the fact she had terrible breath and that they've helped plenty.
