Skandalon, that is your opinion and you evidently beliebve there is such a thing as god. I do not believe there is and I also believe if birth is not controled then nature will wipe out masses of us soon.

So far none of you deserve the ten. Not one so far even has any idea what is real.

Reports state that the Catholic Church is re-evaluating some birth control methods: http://allafrica.com/stories/200611300399.html

In my opinion:

The Church will never accept sins against the virtue of chastity (sex outside of marriage).

The Church will also never accept any form of artificial birth control that kills a human being in any stage of life (fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus).

However there is a slight possibility that the Church may allow forms of artificial birth control that prevent fertilization like condom use.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if a person infected with AIDS was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

With love in Christ.

the Catholic church like all Christian churches have to answer to the higher authority of God and the commandments.
Birth control inhibits the possibility of new life and is therefore contrary to the law of creation, sex was not given to us just for the sake of gratification, it has higher moral value than this, and the church can never go against this higher morality even should the whole world rebel against it.
the church does recognize that some countries suffer from over-population and have done as much as it can under it`s moral code to help, but in the end it is people who have to control themselves.

Skandalon has it right. If people get back to God and put sex back in its proper place - marriage - then there would be no need for birth control.

your question is invalid as it assumes a premise not proven, one must agree birth control is necessary before answering your question. the simplest and most effective birth control is of course abstinence.
