OK OK: here's a list of things that can be good:
1. A Chanuka menora (a chanukia-a kind of lamp that Jews use on Chanuka/Hanuka, the next upcoming holiday).
2. A Siddur (the book we use to pray from).
3. A miniture Torah (look it up to find out what that is).
4. Maybe a cool new suit to wear to Synagogue/Shul/Temple every Shabbat.
5. Some set of holy Jewish books (make sure he doesn't have it already).
But your best bet would be to just simply ask him what he would really like.

Since it's close to Hanukkah, their Festival of Lights, I'd suggest a Menorah, or Jewish Candlestick. It'll serve as a Birthday and also Hanukkah present.
Merry Christmas!!!!

Well, if you know him well, buy something along the lines of his interests. If not, I don't think you could go wrong with a kosher gift basket. Try www.koshergiftbaskets.com, they have a very nice selection for birthday stuff.
