"AND IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD THE WORD MEANS "FEMALE DOG"
The word b!tch means female K9, A b!tch is a b!tch, and a dog is a dog. It is impossable to have a female dog. The word "dog" implies male gender.
Sorry to hear about your puppy. The first thing to do is check to see if it has a palet problem. If the palet is OK then try hand feeding with the hope that it is just a runt, and that it will eventually catch up with the others. BUT,,,, be aware that at least half the time the puppy was simply not developed enough, and you will loose it to fading puppy syndrone.

"ur a backyard breeder aren't you..."
Love it when someone passes judgment on someone elses breeding practices when they probablly have never welped a litter of pups, and know absolutlly nothing about breeding.

Pups sometimes are born deformed, if thats the case it will die or the vet will euthanase it.
Did you remember to check for cleft palette, does milk come out its nose when it feeds?
Fading Puppy syndrome sounds likely here, the only remedy is to opick the pup up and give it a rub every 20 mins or so. Give extra feed by hand if it makes you feel better but if Mum can feed its better for the pup.
Please don't take it away and hand rear it; being a lone pup causes fading puppy syndrome! Sheesh. Leave it with the other pups. It needs the constant physical contact for stimulation.
Make sure its warm, if not warm it up then return it to the litter and get Mum checked for calcium deficiency.

Sorry, a little off topic, but I was wondering if you already have homes for these pups. I dont know your situation, and I dont want to sound confrontational, but its just a shame with people breeding, (I am assuming you are not a professional breeder) especially breeding a rotti, where most cute puppies become large and end up at shelters eventually, and you will most likely never know that no matter how great a hime you think you found for it. Breeding makes you responcible for that pups life, for the REST of its life. I really hope any homes you have or will find for them, you will screen carefully, and do surprise visits one year after the dogs are over a year old. Or ask people that take these pups, that if theres any problems whatsoever with any dog in the ENTIRE life of that dog, to bring the dog back to you. Are you sure you are able to handle all that? People when you breed dogs, especially large "black" dogs, you better be able to deal with any consequences of that for the rest of that pups lifespan as YOU are the one whos actions brought it into this world. If you cant honesly tell yourself that you will be able to deal with it, DONT breed. Large black dogs of any breed are the most commonly found dogs at kill shelters throughout the country. Keep that in mind next time you want to witness the miracle of birth.

Yes, get some formula and a baby bottle and try to feed it that way. With smaller dogs you need one of the puppy bottles but with a big pup like a rottie, a baby botle should be fine. The little one may not make it. Sometimes they are just too weak to survive. I hope she will be oaky. Congrats on the new family.

I found it helps if you keep her in a room where the whelping area is the most comfortable thing to lay on. I used a area that had a hard floor and i put a quilt in the whelping area with a waterproof furniture cover over it so it was nice and comfortable, She will naturally lay in the area more if its the nicest place to be but she will want breaks. You shouldnt really be having to give the pups lactol usually the mother is fine so you should consult your vet before intervening like this. Do you let her up on furniture etc? Leave her alone with her pups and take away all the home comforts she should be resting with her pups and not lounging in a comfy chair. The more time she spends with them and the more she feeds them the more attached she becomes.

Definately get in touch with vet. You might need to get lactol or similar from vet plus feeding bottle. Have hand reared kittens before & you need to be committed to feeding every couple of hours round the clock for a while. Time consuming, tiring but very rewarding when it works. Good luck - ps. get in touch with vet soon re advice as new borns can go downhill quickly

Doc8 gave the best approach if the poor thing is to live. And yes, to the Vet's as soon as you can.

That pup will probably die. To feed it, I use a small catheter inserted down the throat directly into the stomach with a calibrated syringe for injection.

keep the pup warm and handle it as much as possible, you might have to bring this runt up by hand speak to someone that nows what can be done.
