This site may help you as it explains clearly what might cause the allergic reactions in you.

If you don't like the extreme look of the Siamese perhaps you could consider an 'applehead' or 'traditional' Siamese. These have rounder heads than the current types of show Siamese.

Or possibly a Burmese?

These are really sweet, great companions & come in a stunning range of colours.

Rex cats such as the Devon Rex & the Cornish Rex, are said to be more tolerable to allergy sufferers ... you might not like the Devon Rex, though I think that some of them are so ugly that they are incredibly cute. What with their little pixie faces & great big bat ears:

The Cornish Rex is less extreme looking than the Devon Rex, with beautiful soft fur.

There are also two relatively new Rex breeds in the UK. The first, the Selkirk Rex, has a much more cobby body than that of the Devon & Cornish Rexes & has long wavy hair, sometimes with ringlets:

The other is LaPerm:

Apparently, these also shed very little & can be good for people with allergies. They come in both long & short hair varieties.
Some people suggest that having a cat with no fur at all might help, such as the Sphynx ... however, Sphynx still use saliva & have dander, so may still cause problems.

The other cat, that I've heard recommended is the Siberian, as apparently they produce less dander than most cats.

These are glorious, gorgeous, big, long haired cats.
If I was you, I'd have a look at these breeds, decide which one (or two) I liked most & then contact some breeders & see if they would let you come & visit them to see if or how badly their cats affected your allergies. Bearing in mind that you'll only be having one or two cats & not the many that are likely to be at the breeders. I'm sure that a good breeder would be pleased to welcome you.

allergies selection. some human beings must be allergic to all cats, others to basically some cats. The allergies must be reactive to specific breeds or maybe purely specific persons. Has your husband ever been examined? many human beings think of they have puppy allergies while they actually do not. based on the severity of the allergies, you could often times cope with them interior the domicile.

All cats will cause allergic reactions unfortunatly. It does not depend on thier fur legnth. People are allergic to dander and saliva of cats, not thier hair.
I am also allergic to cats, so I don't know what to tell you. Depending on how bad your allergies are you may not be able to have a cat at all without being allergic.

Usually, which too long for me. I think it depends on the guy and also his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other people can't.

Just take the drugs. I do. I've got eight cats and have been taking antihistamines for years. Get cetirizine (Zirtek) - they don't cause drowsiness and are quite powerful. And then get the cutest, fluffiest cat you can. I'd recommend Maine Coones. They're LOVELY.

All cats cause allergy's because it`s not the fur
but the saliva that is the cause.
