My doc just started me on cymbalt afer being on Lexapro for a couple of years and it seemed to have quit working and I have a lot of back pain and she thought it would help because it is not just for depression it is supposed to help with nerve pain to. but the pharmacist told me to take it in the morning but it made be drowsy so I want to know if I can take it at night that is when I use to take the Lexapro any help would be greatfull thanks

Both drugs can cause drowsiness, but you become tolerant to that particular side effect in time. The reason they tell you to do it in the morning is because these two medications can make it more difficult to sleep at night. If you compared two groups of 100 people each. The 'morning' group would be tolerating things better.

Still for you, bedtime would seem preferable.

Next time your Pharmacist asks, "Do you have any questions", this would have been a good one....so ask. There's a lot of knuckleheads blurting out their thoughts here. It's best to ask someone that knows.

cymbalta (or any medication for that matter) takes a while to get used to that's y Ur so sleepy
