Can anyone recommend a decent wine that is not too expensive? I have a Christmas party tonight at a friends home, so I need to take a gift for the house. If you can give a price range, it would be helpful.

Good wine does not have to be expensive. I don't know if where you live how they sell wine. If you can go to the grocery store or if your state controls the selling of beer wine and spirits. You can usually find alot of good wines on sale. Such as Black Tower. I prefer the black bottle. Also Bolla has a wonerful Pinot grigio.Berringer's has a very good zinfindel that i enjoy very much. If they prefer a red wine maybe merlot i recommend Linderman's it's an Aussie wine. Hogue is another good wine the Johannnisberg Riesling is my favorite. It does'nt have to be Boones Farm. It be can be a great wine but also inexpensive.

A good holiday wine is Beaujolais Nouveau. Any brand is fun, drinkable, fruity, crisp and inexpensive.

Try a locally made wine, if you are lucky enough to be around vineyards!. . .If not, I think Yellow Tail is the best, good and cheap wine you can get.
