Is the noise from the engine itself or from the exhaust below the car? There was a recall on the exhaust for some of those models... I was over on mileage and couldn't have mine done for free, so I just lived with the rattle and vibration.
Are there any warning lights on (e.g. check engine) in the dashboard instrument panel?
Is it very cold where you are?
Does it stay loud, or does it go back to normal after the engine is warmed-up?
Is the engine idling at a high rate of RPM?
(check the tachometer and see what the rate is)
