I have been working for the same dentist for the last 10 years.
I originally was working chair side and also ordering stock too.

Now, my position is receptionist and occasionally ordering stock too.

Depending on the practice, my dentist has 2 assistants and 1 receptionist.

P.S Check your spelling - it makes your question easier to read!

I think you will find it depends on how mean the dentist is! They should certainly have a qualified dental nurse in the surgery when a patient is there. A receptionist and if there's a hygienist a nurse for them too. If they have a practice manager , they are the ones doing the ordering etc. However I have worked with a tight dentist and she would often get away with just 1 of us doing both nursing and reception whenever she could!

generally there is one nurse to each dentist or orthodontist but it depends on how busy the practise is. As to the ordering the nurse confers with the dentist and if there is a receptionist she or he will get the list from either the nurse or dentist and then will order the necessary supplies. each dental surgery differs so you would need to ask these questions if you are thinking of taking up a position within this field......hope this solves your questions

Well, a dentist or orthodonist needs at least 4-8 nurses. This is because the dentist or orthodonist is always, always sending the nurses to get this and that. Such as the chisel, x-ray vest, hold the kid down when the kids trying to get up, papers, dental-files from the receptionist and of course 2 personal nurses to help him/her in the room. Also the receptionist is the one who orders all of the stuff.

One nurse per Dentist or Orthodontist usually. And its a practice manager who normally does the ordering. It all depends on the size of the practice really, where i work theres only one Dentist and me, so i do all the ordering.

usually one, sometimes they have 2 nurses for surgical procedures, one to monitor the patient and sort out dirty instruments and one to pass sterile instruments and materials.
