It's not cruel but rather a necessity for my little Doxie. She won't go out without her coat. She also brings me one of her little shirts if the house is chilly.

I think it is adorable! I don't have a dog right now, but I love dressing dogs up! My friends used to have a malamute, and I would always dress her up in one of my T-shirts and some basketball shorts. She was so lovable! Looked just like Air Bud!!! lol It can be good for very short-haired dogs too in the cold. I had a miniature pincher several years ago, and I always dressed him up in a little sweater to help him stay warm! The only problem was that his sweater was pink and he was quite the macho little dog, so I think he was embarrassed (even though dogs supposedly can't see color lol)!
I'd say keep doing it, it's fun and makes the dogs look so cute. As long as the dog is not in distress from it (which they usually aren't), I think it's fine!

Why would you think it was cruel. It's not at all. I have #5 chihuahuas that I dress up all the time. It's alot of fun, and they look so cute in them. They have some real cute clothes for dogs.

I don't understand why people think this is cruel. If you get a dog used to wearing clothes from the time they are born, they actually enjoy it. Human were not born wearing clothes. They help to keep us warm, plus the modesty issue. No, my dogs do not wear clothes, but there is nothing wrong with it.

I dress my Yorkie for exterior interior the iciness. He gets very chilly, rapid. My Weimaraner is purely too massive and he does not get chilly, so i don't dress him. My chum has a three lb. yorkie and he or she retains his hair short. She outfits him daily, which contains boots for snow, ice or salt on the streets. He loves it or maybe places his legs interior the garments. It rather relies upon on the breed and length, plus the climate. i will possibly on no account dress my long-haired yorkie interior the summertime. i don't see something incorrect with dressing dogs, so long because of the fact the dogs isn't uncomfortable. My yorkie purely gets a hoodie or a fleece coat in chilly climate.

It depends on the dog. I've got some dogs that love it! Others hate it. If they like it, I might dress them up but if they hate it, I don't.
I also have sweaters and coats for protection against the elements for my sighthounds as they are very thin skinned and they need that extra protection in extremely cold weather.

It's fine as long as the puppy is comfortable and not distressed... some dogs hate it, in which case it would be cruel. My dog, however, goes limp and enjoys letting me do what I want... from pony tails to outfits to little booties.... she's a Princess....Hope that helps! Love and Blessings!!

In hot weather I think its cruel. If the dog doesn't mind in cool weather, go for it.
