Vermilion is a red orange but genuine Vermilion can darken quite dramatically and it is recommended to use Cadmium red light instead.

Yes. "Vermilion" is a bright red. I remember this color from a book called "Fahrenheit 451", read as a kid. I decided the books burned like "vermilion" and remembered the report I wrote up.

The color vermilion brings back memories of the flaming heap of fire.

Vermillion... also called chinese red...

When found naturally it is an opaque reddish orange.Native AMericans used it in its natural form. Authentic chinese vermillion oil paint if very expensive (a couple hundred dollars) so substitutions are desireable.

It's spelled "vermilion" and it's a deep red color. Go on google and type vermilion and it's the 2nd option and it gives you a color swatch. =)

Vermillion is the red powder Indian married women sport on their foreheads. It is red. It is called 'sindur' in Hindi. Now they even go for slightly orange.
