You can have lots of browsers all installed and running simultaneously - IE, Firefox, Opera, K-Meleon, Mozilla etc...

Yes, I do.
I use Firefox for general browsing, and IE for websites that I know and trust. Some websites won't work with anything but IE.

You can't even delete IE if you'd want to. MS won't allow you to do that (i hate those monopolists).
So, if you install FF on your Windows box, it always has at least both FF and IE. Opera is better than FF though: http://www.opera.com
