I'd like to get a cat or kitten tattooed on me. I'd like it to look
catoon-ish but still classy. Nothing too cartoon-ish, just drawn I guess. But nothing with too much detail as shading costs alot and I'd like something simple! Help! Provide links!

FYI - This isn't my first tattoo.. it's my 7th. So I'm aware of it being on there for life. Thanks for the suggestion though! :)

I was looking for links for cat pictures as what I described above as I cannot find any I like so far...

Your best bet is to have the tattoo artist draw one out for you. He/she will be happy to do this and the price isn't going to be tacked on to how much the tattoo costs. Actually to be honest, they will feel honored to have their art worn on another individual. If you don't like what he/she comes up with, don't get it. You may want to pick up different tattoo magazines for ideas or check out the flash art tattoo files on the walls of most reputable artists. The tattoo I have on my right arm was a custom design and it's my favorite. The artist took my idea and made it come to life on paper. After that I was very happy to have the tattoo inked in my skin. Detail and shading DO NOT cost much money. Think of it this way, even if it were an extra $20 (which is the most it would be) isn't that better than being stuck with a horrible tattoo forever or the expensive surgery it would take to remove the tattoo? I will provide some links to help out with browsing through pictures, although I am not entirely sure if you'll find what you're looking for. I definately hope that it helps.

first off, please don't let price drive you to get one tattoo over another, or affect who you get your tattoo by. you will have this art on your body forever.

Make sure you go to an artist that you trust. Ask your friends if any of them have gotten tattoos. Ask to see the artists' portfolios, each artist has their own style and it will be reflected in the pictures of the tattoos he/she has done. You don't have to choose your tattoo from the tattoos that you see on others' bodies though, those are just reference. Your tattooist will be happy to customize something for you

if you choose a graphic elsewhere and it has shading, save up your money to have it done properly. OR, have the artist adapt it into a non-shaded version and see how it comes out, BEFORE it is permanently on your body.

the bottom line though is to save the money needed to get it done right. a tattoo is a VERY "get what you pay for" situation, and it is permanent.

If you go to a book chain like Barnes & Noble or Borders, there is a huge selection of magazines including those featuring tattoos of all types from all states and nations. those are a great place to start looking for ideas. there are many websites as well!

I don't think gender has anything to do with it. People that have crappy, stereotypical tattoos (IE chicks with tramp stamps and dudes with tribal armbands) are not attractive. It might even look cool, but the lack of originality on the surface points to a lack of personality behind it. If somebody has cool, original tattoos, and can explain what that piece of art means to them, then it's attractive.

not sure where you live, but maybe a custom artist in your area could help you out. Talk to them & have them draw you something with your input. You can make all kinds of tweaks til it's just right. I would suggest also to bring a few pics, that each have some element you like. A good custom artist can take the elements you want & blend them together.

you should check out my tattoo artist's page. he did a tattoo of a cat in a spaceship. it's a 50s style cat and spaceship and is very cool. go to his myspace (linked below) and watch the slideshow on the left it's a little ways in there but it is really cute. it's colorful but you could atleast get an idea of what it looks like.

ok first the main thing you should keep in mind is that this tattoo is going to be on you for the rest of your life, and it is completely up to you to decide on the right piece. it sounds like the piece you are looking for is a simple basic design, You should gather resource materials (pictures, & drawings of cats) and if you cant draw the design you want, take your resources to a good CUSTOM Tattoo Artist. he/she should be able to draw anything from your resource pics.

Maybe you could do just the cats face features, meaning the eyes nose mouth and whiskers.....Also look at disney movies with cats in them like the movie Aristocats, here are some drawing links of them....the cats are white, but you could always change thier colors

i saw this tattoo once that looked really nice. it was just small, and it was a silhouette of a cat stretching.

not to dampen the party but i have a tattoo and . am a mom now . and much older then i was when i got it. it is the worst mistake i ever made having it removed now. remember you get older and the skin becomes saggy . and how are you going to explain this to your kids or grand kids. maybe its not fair but its OK for a elderly man to be tattooed you think they must have had a great life . but if an elderly woman is tattooed you think she use to be a skank sorry just my opinion

whatever you pick make sure you won't mind looking at it for the rest of your life....

I got a turtle on my ankle because I like turtles and they remind me of my dad..

I don't mind looking at it.. but it's also in a place that can be covered if I want it to be..
