(Also, what does a "non-smoking industry" mean here?- Please help me by giving at least 3 reasons in response to the above question. :) Thanks a lot .

My understanding is that a "non-smoking industry" is one where the workers have to be, or are preferred to be, non-smokers.

These will tend to be those industries where smoking could be a problem for those you work with (nursing); may set the wrong example (child care) or may be unpleasant for your clients (tourism).

its just like the "smoking gun" theory. tourism has dropped in many countries due to terrorism and fuel getting so expensive. also people have other important responsibilities than to travel to other countries or states in the lower 48.however, the drop in tourism is cited by the possibility of another 9/11 and travel by personal conveyance is slowed by the rising prices of fuel. the non smoking industry has been adopted by many in large corporations due to health concerns and the rise in health insurance premiums.
