Cats close their eyes because of two reasons:
1. They relish the feast so to concentrate on their taste buds they close the eyes.
2. They dont want to see the person whose milk is this and from whom they are stealing, so no betrayel!

Probably to stop the milk from splashing up into they're eyes because they are scooping the milk up with the tongue and it can get a little messy! just have a look at the milk coated whiskers! mmmmmmm milk :{

Note to everyone - cats are LACTOSE INTOLERANT and should never be given human milk. If you want to give them milk, purchase cat or kitten milk at the grocery store, pet store or through your vet office. They will get diarrhea otherwise.

I don;t know for sure but I do know you should not really give cats milk. You can buy special cats milk in pet shops but you should not really give them ordinary milk and they are interolerant to it. It is a myth that cats should be given milk- water is best for them.

It's just a sign of contentment. We subconsciously shut our eyes if we are purely enjoying something - so do cats.
Just as an added note: Cats shouldn't drink too much milk. It gives them... you know... diarrhoea... ouch

I think cats kind of squint their eyes when they drink anything, not just milk. A lot of cats squint when they eat, too, if they're feeling relaxed. I guess it just means they're enjoying the hell out of it.

its not just milk. whenever they feed wherein their head is looking down, they mostly squint out of instinct so that the food or drink doesn't accidentally splash or poke their eyes. although...they don't always squint. you'll notice some would rather blink rapidly than squint.

they dont have a long face to drink anything without their eye coming into close contact with what they are driking. Hence, by instinct they close their eyes.
