Sorry for the previous extremely wrong answers. The US has NO law against dual citizenship. You are in no danger of ever losing your US citizenship unless you purposely renounce it, or perform some expatriating act with the intention of losing it.

Marriage does not confer Brazilian citizenship; in order to apply, you must be resident in Brazil. Here is information on naturalization:

Brazil does not recognize dual citizenship. That means that if you apply and receive Brazilian citizenship, you will be considered to be only Brazilian while you are there.

Hard situation, but not sure what her threat can really do, first she has unclean hands just as much as you, so if she goes to the police she will also be charged, then based upon that charge she could very well be departed if convicted of the crime or if she is currently an illegal, just return the monies and move on

It is against the law to hold dual citizenship in the United States unless you were born of American parents outside the country. If you apply to Brazil for citizenship, your American passport would be seized by Immigration and you lose your American citizenship.
