It depends on your goal. If you want to be a private pilot then check out the local schools, probably the most important thing is their maintance records as the teachers are all going to be the same; people who have just achieved their teaching certificate and are trying to build up hours to get a commercial licence. At most of these schools you will just get your private licence, maybe your instument rating, and then be off on your own to build up hours.
If you want to fly for a living then the military is so far beyond any others schools that there is no comparison ( not to mention you get paid rather than paying tuition). But there are some schools that do teach to higher levels and you should look those over very carefully ( the only one that springs to mind is Flight Safety International.)
Consider what your goals are and choose a school that fits them.

It really depends on what your goals are in terms of aviation. If you are just getting your private pilots license your local flight school will probably be the best for you. If you are planning on continuing on to chose aviation a career, you want to make sure that you find a flight school with a structured program that has the type of aircraft needed to get your ratings, ie. instrument, multi, CFI, etc... A good website that has a lot of information regarding starting your flight training is http://www.beapilot.com/

Hope this helps and good luck!

I am no longer precisely certain approximately the Airforce however I consider it's commonly very similar to the Army. In the Army if you get your first two years of undergrad performed, you'll practice for a inexperienced to gold scholarship. If accredited you're going to receives a commission to visit college and if you graduate you're going to pass to OCS after which come to be a commissioned officer. I feel that is what you're talking of. As some distance as doing this to come to be a pilot the anyone within the Airforce could be your excellent guess. I could attempt to speak to them, speak to a recruiter. Get all of your data directly earlier than you signal that dotted line! Good Luck!
