We have been dating for 5 years, and in that time I bought a house, in my name only, bills are also in my name. He is constantly in a bad mood and very direspectful to me and my family. He doesn't treat his very well either. He refuses to leave even though I have told him that I don't love him anymore and that I want to be with someone more optimistic about life. He has had trouble in the past with the police and has finally dug himself out of debt from that. I do care about him so I really don't want to call them and get him in trouble, why I care I'll never know. Any suggestions about kicking him out, will the police even help, he isn't physically violent. Help!!

Is there such a thing as him having this as his established place of residency and I can't kick him out?

Change the locks! So when he tries to enter and cant, call the cops and tell them you have an intruder. Make sure to remove all his stuff and leave it ready in boxes for him to take - that is if he has anything cuz it sounds like his undies were probably bought by you.

Type up an eviction letter (be sure to date and sign it), make a copy of it for yourself, and give the original to him. Give him 15 to 30 days to vacate the property. If you do this, then you have covered yourself legally. Then you can physically remove his belongings from your house if he does not move. Stand your ground and do not be afraid.

If all this fails to get him moving, then I recommend you involve the police. He won't get arrested -- they'll just get him moving a bit faster.

I think the fact that the house is in your name only may give you the right to demand he leave.
If you really believe this not to be possible, sell your house and buy another one and tell him he has to find another place to live and definitely not with you.

well you will have to get him out with the police, go get a restraining order and then call the cops they will deliver the news to him and remove him from the premises, but remember he was with you for how long, he will be entitled to half the house if he wants to get nasty

Yes, you can kick him out.

Give him the option of leaving on his own or you will have the law remove him.

Sence he's not a renter, I don't think you have to give him any notice either.

Yes you can.

You can even have a cop come over to escort him out of your house.
