what are the benefits, weaknesses or constraints, opportunities, threaths, implications and recomendations of pedestrian overpasses

1.)Less gas used (cars not stopping for pedestrians)
2.)less accidents from people running across the road and cars swerving to miss/slamming on brakes
3.)no traffic stopped = no hijacking at this intersection/crossing
4.) less damage to pavement from cars stopping and starting at this point (which means less construction)

People do not have to walk out into a busy street and get hit by a car. A young college student was hit by a car and killed late one night using a cross walk.

i personally think they're a waste of US tax dollars. the only places i've seen them are for going over freeways. What is across a freeway, in between the the two exits, that can't wait to be reached that we need people with no cars to cross at that point. waste of money.

The benefits are people will not be tempted to jaywalk,to minimize accidents,for old people to cross to safety,to not bother the drivers of people crossing the road and for easier convenience

they keep walkers from crossing in the traffic lanes keeps traffic flowing. we need them at every intercection to keep them slow walkers an wheel chair riders from getting hit by a car. i love the ones that have heat in them in winter an a/c in the summertime.
