Ask Bush (because he is THE no:1 conventional weapon), if he fails to answer, ask Laden (closely followed as no:2), if he too fails, shoot yourself with a AK (three, my guess).

For pure destructive power, sloppy is right the fuel air bamb (also known as the "Daisy Cutter")
From a practical standpoint whatever weapon is pointed at you becomes the most dangerous thing in existance. As the old addage states: The best gun to have in a fight is the one you have.
There are so many different munitions out there, most have a very specific purpose, to answer your question honestly I would have to know more details, what criteria are you using to define "deadly"?

Forget about weapons and explosives wars can be fought without them. BUT!!!!!
The most deadly weapon on the Battlefield anywhere in the world is the Soldier.People say they`re fighting for queen and country but believe me they`re not. They`re fighting to stay alive , they only thing a soldier cares about in war is his own skin and his mates, everyone else can get stuffed.

The AK47. It's simple, cheap, rugged, and made in a lot of different countries. AK47 stands for Automatic (in Russian) Kalashnikov (the inventor), 1947. Kalashnikov designed it while he was recovering from a wound. He wanted Russia to be able to defend itself against another German attack. He never profited from it financially. Years later he said he wished he'd invented a lawnmower.
