Seems that we are struggling for a good reply so far.

There are really only two non-medicated options. One is to reduce the sensitivity by the controlled application of the allergens. The other is to minimise the exposure to the allergens.

The second point can be a problem, but by avoiding the worst situations it can reduce the effect. For example, avoid spending time outside during windy days that may be carrying a lot of pollen and generally restrict your time spent outside during the pollen season (I'm assuming that your allergy is seasonal).

Desensitising is an effective option, but requires time to work and a number of visits to an allergy specialist. I have used it and it does work, but I have a strong reaction mainly to a couple of varieties of rye grass. I'd be wary of going to a naturopath as many just go for a broad brush 'avoid anything' approach that may result in a ridiculous diet regime. But, if you get a reccomendation to a good one (they are very rare) then try it.

Have you tried a chiropractor? I'm a firm believer now. I only get adjusted about once a month now, but I haven't had any problems since. I don't have to take any hay fever or allergy meds anymore. As a matter of I haven't hardly been sick 3yrs. either since I've been going.

Besides avoiding pollen whenever possible, your best bet is to boost your immune system. I could list a whole bunch of things, like Vitamin C, olive leaf extract, echinacia, eyebright, essential fatty acids, and a tonne of other stuff, but if you want to beat this without medication, I recommend taking yourself off to see a naturopath. There are so many herbs and vitamins and minerals that can help you, and it's best that a professional assesses you personally and decides what is right for you.

If all else fails, air filters are available that could be inserted in the nostrils, to filter out the pollen or allergens from the air that you breathe in.

the best way is to just lay in bed and have a hot cup of tee and that helps alot just to relax
