The Roman Catholic Church is the very same Church that Jesus Chrst founded.

The Church today teaches the very same truths that Jesus and the Holy Spirit gave to his apostles and disciples some 2000 years ago.

Not all of these truths were written down in the Bible. Many are part of the oral tradition of the church, which is just as valid as written tradition.

From the earliest days, holy men of the Church prayed, studied, and wrote about their faith experiences. Many of them were disciples of the apostles, or disciples of disciples.

These insights into the true faith of the early church fathers are still available to anyone who cares to read them.

A bit later, in the 4th century, St. Augustine provided further theological illumination, while St. Jerome translated the Bible into the common language for the very first time.

Once Christianity became the faith of the Roman empire, the whole world soon became Christian, and a combination of church councils and ongoing church and private theological scholarship provided many more insights into the fundamental truths of the faith.

In the 11th century St. Anselm completed some excellent work on the peculiar theology of redemption, while in the 13th century, St. Thomas Aquinas and the scholastic movement provided a most complete and wide ranging analysis of the faith, that is still used in many universities and seminaries today.

In the 15th century, Protestant "reformers" muddied the waters significantly, by introducing a host of various and new Christian beliefs and practices. Confusion has reigned ever since.

In short, anyone who cares to do the the authentic research can trace present day Roman Catholic beliefs, teachings, and practices, all the way back to Jesus and the apostles, without finding any significant deviations from the original sacred deposit of faith, that was given to the Church directly by God.

I am currently reading through the Bible and what I have come to understand is: Jesus spent so much time traveling the land and preaching. He said to the people that he did NOT come to change the laws of the older prophets- he came to reinforce them, and some of his preaching was very strict- 'it is better to gouge out your eyeballs than to watch a woman in a lustful way'

Why did he waste so much of his time telling the people to stay far from sin if he was sent to wipe sin clean for them all?

One of the reasons I converted to Islam is that I always felt that Jesus was not God, or God's son. And when I prayed I knew that God was high above that, and had no need to do that.

The Bible for me remains a mystery of confusion with scattered answers.

Simply go to Church of Christ.com or type in the name of your nearest Church of Christ if they have a website.
THe church of Christ was simply ppl who believed on Jesus & followed His teachings & laws. They met at one another's homes or in rented buildings, anywhere they could get together once or twice a week to do His will.
The bible will tell you the whole layout of the way God wants us to worship ,live & tithe.
People got tired & decided to deviate from the law & go out on their own. That is why so many sects now.
Another religion, which I will not name, found out that they could not squash Christianity,so they stated using it to control the people in their land by twisting the bible & not letting the people read it,priests only. They still try to pass out their own verions of God's word.
Accually there are 3 main sects that have written their own bible.
All I have to say about that is,"Ye shall know them by their 'Books"!"

THE MOVE AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL TEXT HAS DAMMAGED CURRENT TEACHING. It has become too opinionated, instead of focusing on what was actually said, now people want to interpret it for their own reasons.

And people do not spend near the time thinking or talking about God any more. People go to church on Sunday, and forget about God the rest of the week. Weekend warriors. Or just go to church on Sunday hoping it will buy them a seat on the bus to Heaven. WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME, HAS TAKEN OVER IN PLACE OF WHAT CAN I DO FOR GOD.!!!!!!!!
GREAT QUESTION FOUR STARS.

Some are, some aren't.

The ones that uphold his teachings and don't preach any other message than he died, was ressurrected and was the Son of God.

The best thing to look at is the Bible or possibly to look at Church history before Romanization. In my mind, that's when it went downhill.
