A serious question from all Muslims. Specially Pakistani Muslims?

Few days back I have read some where that Muslim men in Sindh, Pakistan married their daughters to their Holy book QURAN. Is this true? Is their religion allowed them or it’s a cultural thing? if cultural thing then why don’t they try to eliminate this evil? What their religious leaders are doing? And if it’s a religious thing, then what type of religion is this? Isn’t it’s a barbarian thing to marry a girl with a book? What the difference between Hindu and Muslims? As Hindu girls got married with trees snakes monkeys etc. ( got heard that Ashwaria Rai is going to marry with a tree) why Muslim claim that their religion is pure and free from all evil?
If both the religion are same then why they asked a separate home land in 1947 on the basis of religion?

Ms zabist : sindh is not a small town. if ur President can kill lots of innocent people in ur tribal area then why he cant control those in that part of area? If this is against ur religion? Pakistan is not a muslim counrty? For ur information its 97% muslim populated country so every act happened in that country means its some how related to their religion.
It is related with QURAN as they married their daughter with Quran so how we took out that book from this question?

First off, you forgot where you read the story, so you can't refer any link. Then, you said it happened in a location in Pakistan. Then you quickly related it with Qur'an. Then you mentioned it is an evil and why anyone doesn't remove that. And then you are questioning what Islamic scholars are doing! And then, (as scholars are not doing anything!) Islam is the root cause of this evil. And, ha ha, now it proved Islam is a barbaric religion! Well, at this point, your question took a sharp turn. Hinduism showed up out of blue! With every religion, there are some people who take the words of God literally and there are people who don't. This is a very old practice, and the fact that it originates from Sindh is very telling. These are small town people who really take stereotypes and religious matters to an extreme and allow for such practices to happen. Pakistan is a somewhat gender biased, sexist country, and the people over there expect men and women to obey certain standards. These age old practices aren't condemned mainly because women aren't necessarily seen as those who have equal rights and can defend themselves.

Weird things happen and they happen all over the globe regardless of religion and culture.

In case of Aishvarya Rai, while I doubt the story of her marriage with tree ,it can be a something to do with evil warding off ritual.

Sometimes when a horoscope shows that a marriage union is going to give some bad results to future spouse after marriage these rituals are done. It is supposed to misdirect the evil in another direction while the real marriage can be performed now without worrying about its influence.

As for marriage to Quran in Sindh , It happens sometimes. The idea is that those girls are now going to dedicate their life to study of Quran. Check out the link below for details. Its kind of living like a nun.

BTW, wrong example if you wanted to point out similarities between different religions. Nobody is going to see it that way. Because reason in all three cases is different and not exactly established religious practice but more like really personal beliefs/whims.

EDIT: I am not a Muslim . Marrying a book is not tradition in my own religion. Marriage to Quran- I have heard and read about this custom . I refrained from commenting on it as i do not know all details and off course because it was not my religion.

But my guess would be that this problem ( marrying with Quran) is related with poor financial conditions too and among girls who are unable to get decent bridegrooms for them. The problem seems to be more related with economy rather than religion.

There have been too many nuns in middle ages in West too who joined convents because they couldnt get married.

Your question is raising too many different questions. But the example is still inadequate. Each of your point needs different disscussions. The partition on India itself had too many angels : circumstances , politics and politicians both Indian sub continental and international , timing, personal ambitions everything took a part.

Problem among Hindus and Muslims in the continent is a subject of thesis in itself.

There are some similarities between Hinduism and Islam , especially Indian brand of Islam- Sufism. Sufis incorporated many local beliefs in their thought but Indian Sufism often differs Arabic one. But then their are similarities between Catholics and Hindus too. Catholics adopted many things from Buddhism.

There will always be some similarities and some differences. Human race is same.

In Islam, there is no such thing of marrying a boy or a girl to the Holy Quran, its sheer ignorance not even cultural. I dont know if this happened or not, But its false and you are right if it did take place, the religious clerics must raise their voices against it.

Islam says men are created for women and vice-versa. Therefore there is no room for gays, lesbians or any other indecent behaviour.

A few people who can be numbered in a few thousand follow such absurd stuff. These maniacs are not followers of Islam, but are ill-litrates who do not know much about Islam. Everyone in Pakistan and Islam condemn their actions. A few days ago a law has been passed in our Senate and was initaied by our great President Musharraf against such evil acions.

Unfortunately people conceive an opinion about Islam not based on research, but on the actions of a few individuals or gossip or as projected by the media.

Hello,
First of all i do accept that in interior some people do this act of marriage of a girl with book. BUT it's just non-islamic thing and main cause is lack of education. People who commit this things are muslims just by name and they are completey unaware of teachings of islam. There is not where concept of such marriage in Islam. Now the reason that why peope do this and why no one stops them. Well lust of money and property is always a source of crimes in whole world and it is also the root cause in this case too. Big land owners who have heritage land and property most of time do this act because if they marry their girls with someone else they will have to give the sahre of their property to theri daugher now just to stopd the division of their property thay commit this crime so that they can hold the property with in the family. I want to mention that Islam is the first religion who allowed the share for a property for girl from his father,husband and from his son. Now why religious leaders are not doing anything against this shameful act. Hopefully you are un-aware from actual situation of those areas where such crimes are committed, just imagine that a big land lard having land equal to one big city and police of its city is also in his influence so such person is allowed to do anything like this crime which you mentioned. So real problem is the enforcement of law, every one knows that in law and in Islam both, its crime but as i told earlier land lords have BIG influence in their areas and doing things like this.

Lastly why muslims got freedom in 1947. Dear fellow the basic root cause for the movement of Pakistan was the Two-Nation theory means muslims and hindus are different nations so they must have seperate countries to live. Now if in Pakistan some people do anything which is nothing to do with Islam then it's does not mean that there is no difference between muslims and hindus. Dear it's not the case that people of two religions can't live together but dear fellow there is LOT of things in muslims and hindus that is 100% opposite to each other like hindus worship cow but for muslims they can slaughter and eat its meat which is act of anger for hindus. Hindus can have musical instruments during their worship and for muslims it is prohobitied so due to these and other swear reasons muslims and hindus can't merge themselves into one society even living almost 1000 years before getting seperated in 1947.
