In the translation I have it's stated, :" Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away."

Apparently, Jesus is talking about the signs of the end of the days, warnings of things to be expected in other words. Some would say that all of these things have already happened. But, do you think it was possible what Jesus was stating in the rest of the scriptures printed on chapter 24 were things that were going to continue for a day that is unknown to humankind, but were only signs of the end of all wickedness in the earth? Other scriptures point to that, but I am a little unsure what to collect in my thoughts regarding these scriptures supposing of course that all of this would actually happen.

Should I take literal Matthew 24:35? And if so, can you give me scriptual evidence proving your point? It would be appreciated.

In context - Jesus has just spent a rather nightmarish week with his disciples. And he was trying to get prepare them for things to come - in the near future but also in the future to come. I think the lesson here is quite simple and reassuring - not to be feared. Jesus - himself the Word - proves himself to be eternal in His resurrection. What He is trying to say is that even Heaven and Earth (as we know them) could disappear - but what HE says, which is the truth, would stay the same - it would remain unchanged forever. And therein lies the reassurance and the peace - His truth is unchanging! His promises are eternal. The Word of God will live forever!

Mat 24:35 - Heaven and earth shall pass away,.... This is either an assertion, which will be true at the end of time; not as to the substance of the heavens and earth, which will always remain, but as to the qualities of them, which will be altered: they will be renewed and refined, but not destroyed; the bad qualities, or evil circumstances, which attend them through the sin of man, will be removed and pass away, but they themselves will continue in being: or is a comparative expression, and the sense is, that the heavens and the earth, and the ordinances thereof, than which nothing can be more firm and strong, being fixed and supported by God himself, shall sooner pass away, than anything asserted and predicted by Christ shall:

but my words shall not pass away; be vain and empty, and unaccomplished; which is true of anything, and everything spoken by Christ; and especially here regards all that he had said concerning the calamities that should befall the Jews, before, at, or upon the destruction of their nation, city, and temple; and the design of the expression, is to show the certainty, unalterableness, and sure accomplishment of these things; see Jer_31:36.

This commentary may help some. I think in essence He was stating that even if everything we know, the earth and universe were to vanish, the word of God would still remain, It is constant, true and everlasting.

First notice that Jesus says that his words will not pass away.
If you are a Christian everything will work out OK in the end, because Christ loves you.

Matthew 24:44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

While there is much debate in the Church over when and if the rapture is going to happen I believe the above verse proves that the rapture will take place pre-tribulation. The reason I believe that is anyone with any faith at all who has read the book of Revelation knows that a fairly percise timeline is set up for the end of days we would know Christ was coming back if he was going to wait till the end of the tribulation to remove us. The timeline is to good for that type of surprise. According to the verse at the very moment that we don't think he is coming this will occur. So his return has to be before The final judgement of the latter days.
God made sure Noah was safe before he sent the great flood.
God made sure Lot and his family were safe before he destroyed Gomorrah, and I am pretty confindent that he won't change his ways in the future..

The last days will be a frightening time for all who are on earth when it happend, especailly for the new converts who give thier lives to Christ , after they are convinced by the rapture to do so.
But in the end it all works out for the people who have been forgiven of their sins.

Revelation 21:1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

There's lots of stuff in the Bible that if taken literally is frightening. Keep in mind that the people who wrote the bible never knew or saw Jesus, and they never knew or spoke to anybody else who ever knew or saw Jesus, so how could they possibly know what Jesus said?

Nobody understands the Bible, you can read, study, scrutinize and memorize those scriptures backward and forward and when you add it all up, it doesn't all add up?

If you want to be a Christian, just believe in the things about Christianity you love. Love Jesus, sing a song, enjoy the fellowship, be a good person and don't pay any attention to the rest, God won't mind.

The best thing for you to do is pray and ask God to give you understanding and he will. Soooo many times I have read from the bible ending up confused, then I would pray about it and out of the blue, like maybe I'd be walking down the street not even thinking about anything to do with the bible and boom all of a sudden it would make perfect sense. Repeat the Lord's prayer over and over on a daily basis and you'll get something out of it.

What it says is exactly what it means. Heaven (the atmosphere) and Earth (this world) Will pass a way. But the commandments of God will never be done away with.

What He means by His words will never pass away, i guess that God is forever, this world can be destroyed but not His word, ever. Try studying Revelations, it will make more sence then.

Peace and love
