Excuse me for not speaking good english.
It is not loud sleeping too much neither too few.
An official medical information says:
"There are big sleepers and small sleepers
5 to 8 % sleep less than 5 hours,
15 % sleep 5 to 6,
62 % eight hours,
8 to 13 % sleep 9 to 10 hours,
2 % more than 10 hours."
They add "Napoléon, Churchill were sleeping less than 6 hours,
Einstein more than 10 hours ;"
Sleep like Einstein and be quiet !
it also depends of age : when you will be very old you will sleep 2 hours less per day

While some diseases can cause you to sleep too much, the most likely answer is a condition called sleep apthnia.
This affects mostly (but not limited to) overweight people, smokers and others who do not breathe well when they sleep or snore loudly.
For whatever reason the person stops breathing several times during the night and wakes themselves up all the time. They don't get a restful sleep so they are tired and may take naps or sleep several hours more trying to get rested.

As a matter of fact yes. The most obvious sleeping sickness is the African Sleeping Sickness, hence the name. It cause by being bitten by a fly, yes flies in Africa bite and suck you blood out like a mosquito. It will transmit a parasite that will travel to your nervous system and will make you fall asleep involuntarily. you can be speaking to a person then suddenly you just fall asleep and the regain consciousness without even knowing it, or you can sleep for days or even weeks at a time.

Sleeping's fun so with that it's addicting, When I sleep too long it's almost like I'm hungover or sick. My back aches and I feel like crap, not to mention all of the day I missed out on and have to go through the same since I slept late again. It's a vicious cycle.

I don't think you can get sick from sleeping too much but I have read that sleeping too much is just as bad as not enough sleep.
Also, I read that when you sleep alot you could just be really tired, or your body could be trying to help your immune system ward off sickness. I don't think it would necessarily mean a disease though. Maybe just a cold or virus.
