I already had Adobe 7. I removed this and installed Adobe 8 but I am still being prompted to install Acrobat Reader 5.0. Please help! Thanks

GO TO PROGRAM FILES AND SEE IF ANY ADOBE 5.0 FILES
ARE PRESENT
IF YES,DELETE THEM
IF NO ,THERE IS SOME MISTAKE IN YOUR INSTALLATION
UNINSTALL ADOBE COMPLETELY
REINSTALL IT AGAIN
ALSO SEE IF THIS IS DUE TO INSTALLSHIELDUPDATEMANAGER

DID YOU UNINSTALL ADOBE 7 PROPERLY?

hit start then run

type in box msconfig

enter

then go to start up

uncheck all programmes that you do not want to run automatically at start up

then apply

restart system

when you restart you will get a message box saying you have changed start up check box for do not show this again

acrobat will still be there but only when you need to use it

welshel has given the exact answer. follow it, its the best way to get rid o any kinda startup problems. I was gonna suggest the same thing.
