STEP 1: Deep-condition your hair regularly. Properly
moisturized hair is less likely to be affected by static.
STEP 2: Use a "leave-in" conditioner on your hair after you wash it, or apply conditioning hair gel. These products help to weigh the hair down.
STEP 3: Spray your hairbrush or comb with an anti-static spray or hairspray before you run it through your hair.
STEP 4: Keep a fabric softener sheet handy and run it over your hair when it starts to get out of control. Carry it in your purse so you can use it several times during the day if necessary.
STEP 5: Avoid hair products that include ingredients that will dry out your hair, such as alcohol or harsh chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfates.

Hi BabyT!!
For your hair, here a fly away and staticy mixture: 1/2 cup of water 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice 1/4 teaspoon of lime juice Put in spray bottle. Shake to mix. Spray onto hair to tame static. Store the rest in your refrigerator.
Spray a hairbrush with hair spray and brush your hair with it. Do this after your hair is dry. You'll have no more static.
Hair full of static electricity, try using conditioner in your hair when you wash it. After washing with shampoo, then put conditioner in and leave in about a minute then rinse out and style as usual!
Dryer sheets work amazingly well on static-y hair. You just rub it over your hair, and it is instantly tamed. And the best part is that you can reuse the sheets!!!
Rub a water based moisturizer between palms and smooth over hair. I do this in the mornings and it lasts all day.
when I am wearing sweaters, or other knit/tweed type garments... they seem to just invite static electricity! Putting water on your comb can help, and spritzing on a gel or maybe a light hair spray, and combing through. I wouldn't advise spraying static guard on your hair... you might damage it!
Good Bye Jason Homan.

If you over wash your hair, it will actually get greasier because you are trying so hard to get rid of all the oils in your scalp that your pores now have to over compensate for the oils it has lost, therefore producing too much oil making your hair greasy. But, you must have oily hair, so you probably cannot go more than a day or two without washing your hair. Buy a shampoo and conditioner with a good PH balance and possibly natural with no sulfur in order for your hair to regain its natural chemistry. Wash your hair no more than once a day and always condition afterwards.

Peoples hair gets static in it due to the weather. It's something we all deal with during certain times of the year. Your best bet is to use hair spray or mousse to lay down the fly aways.

Try StaticGuard. It comes in little spray cans at Wal-Mart. I think it is in the laundry section. They are small enough to stick in your purse. It smells bad at first, but the smell goes away very quickly. I usually spray it on my hair brush and then brush my hair.
Also, a dab of lotion rubbed over your palms and then smoothed over the fly-aways.
