Unless you have a preexisting medical condition, you are underage, you are over 50, or you have an infection of some sort (pre existing medical condition, sorry for being redundant) it's probably not going to make a whet of difference.

You are liable to get a knot and some swelling at the injection site if it is a tetanus shot in particular, no matter what you do. Dont' worry about it.

They do advise not to, in most cases, but if you are only having a couple, and you have someone there with you when you do it, i dont see any reason why you shouldnt...
