Shouldn't women be allowed to wear mini skirts and look sexy at church just like anywhere else?

Some fat old lady complained that she could see the southpole when I was up at the alter praying last Sunday. But I think she's a liar. Shouldn't we women just be allowed to look wear what we want and look sexy at church just like anywhere else?

I have always had guys tell me that they like what I'm wearing.

You're assuming that society's tolerance of looking sexy in public is justification for wearing what you want anywhere you want. Do you have a job? Can you wear what you want there, anything you want? Would you go to a funeral dressed like a "lady of the night"? Don't some restaurants prohibit barefoot customers?
Church and society have certain norms of decorum. Violate them and you offend.
But, think about this, don't you have a low view of church? You're saying, in essence, that it is no different than any other place. I can commend your lack of hypocrisy but I'm afraid not your piety.

that lady is right.

if you go to church and are a real Christian/Catholic, you would not say "fat old lady". you would say elderly lady.

just to be respectful even if you dont like what she says, just try and be a lil polite by dressing a little more modest in church so others dont get distracted by your clothes during service and listen to the sermon? then after church you can dress however you like...i guess...

i mean, what if you wore like a janitor's clothes to church or something strange, wouldnt everyone be looking at you?

If someone is concerned about your dress they should ask the Usher to use a modesty cloth. They've been used in the churches I have attended for many years.

Come on if you must attend Church show some respect. I never go to church but I did at one time. If you don't have respect for the God you are pretending to worship you shouldn't even go. If you are just trying to impress someone you certainly wont impress them looking like a bi'tch in church. xx

Church is not about being sexy. It is about praising God you are not supposed to go there to be sexy. If you want guys to tell you they like what you are wearing then hang out at a bar or somewhere else. Getting guys attention is pathetic, don't go to church if that is the only reason you are going.

God knows who each person is on the inside....the outside appearance is of no concern when it comes to spirituality.

We all know that wearing a suit or a robe does not make anyone an honest person.

I am not a conservative person but i think you have to wear appropriate attire anywhere you go... you know that the Church is a place for people to pray therefore it should be solemn.... please do not distract other people by wearing miniskirts.... i think proper place and proper time here is hte key... good luck!!!

actually not at this time. the church is still highly conservative and they don't want to change the view that women should wear decent clothing in church. :)

If that happpens, the men will go to church to select their partner for the night....
& not to pray.....
There will be no more respect in churches.....
& people will be doing things in the corner, in the confession box, on the benches, in front of JESUS.
