We're getting a live tree this year, but only as a byproduct of some nearby commercial land being cleared and having an in with one of the folks working on it.
Otherwise, fake trees. They don't smell as nice, but you know.

Christmas is about the birthday of a newborn baby, Jesus.
Most Christmas trees are raised on Christmas tree farms.

People long forgot what Christmas is about. They are not just kiling the trees to "celebrate" Christ, but also countless animals they cannot even eat over that period.
In my opinion it is obscene, and a clear proof that people do it to self-endulge.
I have several "Christmas tree" likes planted in my garden, now they are all about 15 years old and one, a Picea Pungens Koster, is taller than my house. It is a beautiful silver tree that reminds me of my childhood Chritsmasses every day of my life, and God is helping me to look after it.
If I want a decorated tree indoors, I put up a beautiful and elaborately produced artificial tree I can use from year to year. In that repspect, it is just a symbol.
Because of all the hypocrisy associated with Christmas, so many people feel unhappy during it. The Christmas period has the highest suicide rate in the year - do we have to say more?
All seems to be ending being flushed down, even the basics of ethics, not just the spruces... when it comes to the behaviour of the majority of "Christians", over Christmas.

That's what it seems like sometimes, but most christmas trees are grown on farms and are a renewable resource. Personally, I don't put up a tree as it seems like a waste. The last time we got a live tree then planted it, but it died from the heat here. There's a lot of mountain people who would starve if they didn't farm christmas trees, so I guess it's not too bad. Also, the used trees are taken and put in lakes to form places for baby fish to hide from bigger fish.

Actually Christmas trees are VERY environmetally friendly:
1) They grow quite quickly only takes about 5 years for a good sized tree to grow.
2) They remove a good load of Co2 from the air
3) After Christmas they are usually mulched and NOT burnt - so Co2 is not released into the air.
If we stopped "killing trees" then we would not need to grow them in the first place - so less Co2 would be removed from the atmosphere.
LOL - as for the loo paper, this os often made of recycled paper anyway and is often a very green product. (no, people with revolting minds, please don't even go there..... :) )

Thank you for giving oppertunity to raise answers for the question for Humen Prosperity. Actualy Jesus said with His Disciples is :
Gen:1:21. (NKJV) And God saw that it was Good.
For that reason God want`s us to see them as Good.
Mark:16:15.(NKJV)
"Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation".
Go and preach the Gospel to All Creations.
It means God has given freedom to Humen to treat all creation with Good for Good improvement of Humen in Pure Values.
Not only in the time of christmas in any time of using the plants none other than the use of right purpose is abuse and misuse.
I hope that several plants in the most of the christian countries are getting freedom. Because some contries show their respect by tie up with roap and and make fire with superstetious believes. Some are making idols and some making furniture.
Good news is to good for all creation.
In the creation 1st God has created all the suitable atmospeir for Humen convenience. And then finally on the 6the day God created Man from the dust. On 7th day God has taken rest.
Humen prospority is depending upon circumestances (weather). We need to keep the atmospear to be good as long as we want to live with prospority.
Cross was made by wood. Today no crucification on the cross is going on the world. So several plants was got freedom Jesus paid His Value to all to be good. God made all things which suitable and essential for Humen kind befor they were created(Adem and Eve)
Once again i say unto you that None other than that of right use of anything is abuse and misuse. (Man is violating his pleasent and peaceful Global air conditioner which is causing by the reason of rains)And also Ozon layer daymage.
Gen:1:21.(NKJV) And God saw that it was Good.
Mark:16:15.(NKJV) Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.
Jesus said: Your are more precious than Birds.
Environement is a cycle of action and reaction to apply on man kind for good and bad according to the treating(respects) of the humen.
We need to save all things for our Good Improvement.
Thank you for sharing, God Bless you, Amen.
