This sounds like a warning flag that someone may have touched her there and frightened her. Ask her if anyone hurt her there.

I would first try to ask her what's wrong and see what she says. I know this seems simple but, you'd be surprised how much a 2 year old can tell you. If her 'area' is a bit red, try some diaper rash cream. Also, you may want to try a different brand of pull-ups for her. Maybe it's just a bad reaction to that particular brand. I would call my pediatrician in the morning for sure. They can at least offer you some suggestions on what may be causing this. If it's bugging you enough, just tell them that you'd like to have her seen ASAP. My pediatrician lives by the old saying, "A mother's intuition is usually 100% right."

She could have a bacterial infection from poo getting near the vaginal area which very often happens with little girls. You should probably just take her to her pediatrician. The doc should know if it is an infection or allergic reaction, etc. Good Luck to you and your little girl.

ps - I never thought of it but take what the person above me said into consideration also.

yeast infection (yes 2 year old can get them!) or she could be allergic to the pull ups, they may only irratate her when on for prolonged time, try cloth training pants or reg diapers at night or even a diffrent brand like pampers, avoid store brands as many are made by huggies. First get her into a docotrs office tommorow!

I always tell my daughter that her daughter is just like us,She can get the same urinary, yeast & bacterial infections as an adult and it hurts and can itch and burn more because of diapers. Take her to a pediatrician and have it checked SOON.

Is she potty trained yet? If she's just "learning" - perhaps she's a bit nervous by it and is having nightmares.
